Message I posted an add yesterday in the Classifieds and figure that instead of asking everyone to email me with questions that I'll open this thread to discuss questions openly so everyone that's interested can take part.

Z32 TH400

Basically this is a drag race modification, but it has it's merits on the street too.

Switching to a TH400 allows you to take advantage of a transbrake, manual valve body, higher stall converters and a durability level where the sky is virtually the limit.

I estimate that the complete swap will cost in the neighborhood of $4000 to $4500 depending upon how much you spend on upgrades to the transmission. A transbrake manual valve body TH400 with the bellhousing removed should cost around $1000. I recommend "Hughes", "JW Performance", "ATI" or "Coan Engineering".

While upfront it may cost more than rebuilding the stock automatic or that of a clutch capable of handling 600+ hp (for you 5 speed people), I believe in the long run that it will outlast and outperform the above options.

This really isn't a discussion of manual VS. automatic or dragrace VS. roadrace; so if it's not a constructive question or comment, please refrain.

With that said, fire away with questions...
